Streetwise, as framework participant, was appointed under the Commission for the Collection and Collation of Transport and Land Use Data to undertake a series of junction turning counts along the length of the A9 between Perth and Inverness. The study will feed into the Land Use and Transport Integration in Scotland Model, and this data will be used to assist in the planning for the 80 mile, £3bn A9 dual carriageway upgrade, described as one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Scotland’s history, which is set to get underway in 2017. Streetwise, primary data collection contractor to Amey TPI, was commissioned to undertake a comprehensive survey of pedestrian movements within the station building and adjacent platform at Huddersfield Rail Station. Aecom, in their role as supplier to Network Rail, awarded a commission to monitor level crossings throughout Lincolnshire. These surveys form part of a much wider study conducted as a rolling programme by Network Rail to investigate safety issues at level crossings. Streetwise was appointed by Peter Brett Associates, acting on behalf of Brighton and Hove City Council, to undertake a large scale automatic traffic count and speed survey around the city authority area. Streetwise has recently completed the first phase a Gully Asset Inventory Survey on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council. The data is required to assist Aberdeenshire Council with future planned maintenance programmes allowing them to prioritise their teams to the areas of interest. Streetwise was appointed by Transport for London, as part of a study team to undertake an extensive parking survey in the vicinity of Uxbridge town centre. The study team was led by consultants MVA and included Jacobs, responsible for the traffic flow data and Streetwise, responsible for parking surveys, and road capacity audits. Streetwise was appointed by leading consultants Arup to undertake a comprehensive survey of Peterlee town centre, in County Durham. The surveys were to derive parking volumes and typical parking profile over a weekday and Saturday, to enable an assessment of possible options for redevelopment of existing parking arrangements. Streetwise was commissioned by leading consultants Halcrow, acting on behalf of regional NHS Trust to undertake a patient travel surveys at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. The surveys were required as part of an ongoing commitment by the NHS Trust to monitor travel to the site to assess progress towards their goals in the green travel plan. to undertake an extensive origin and destination study for users of the Glasgow
Underground (Subway). The Subway is Scotland’s only underground system
and is the focus of a £290m modernisation plan, including refurbished stations

In March 2010, Streetwise undertook a follow up market research study of users of bus services in Aberdeenshire. This was part of a longitudinal study to assess changes in the user experience of buses in the local area and the efficacy of interventions to promote modal split. |
In connection with the proposed £35M upgrade of the A24 Ashington to Southwater, Transport Planning International (TPi) commissioned Streetwise to conduct a number of surveys. |
Streetwise was commissioned in early 2010 to undertake a detailed movement survey of passengers within the station ticket office area of Edinburgh Waverley Station. Like many stations, Edinburgh’s principal station experiences high pedestrian flows and the survey was part of a process to ensure that limited space within the ticket hall and travel centre areas is put to best use to avoid passenger inconvenience and delay. |
In March 2010, Streetwise undertook a week-long travel survey of users of the Corran Ferry. This service serves the picturesque Ardnamurchan peninsula in the west of Scotland to the mainland and the nearby major centre of Fort William. The surveys were required to inform contingency planning for Highland Council in light of the need to repair the slipways, and the possibility that this might involve temporary suspension of the ferry. |
